Saturday Laziness: Movie Trailers & News
Once again, this is coming late in the day, because I was too lazy to even do this at a reasonable hour. First up we’ve got the trailer to the new Seth Rogen vehicle Observe and Report. Looks like it should be almost as good as Paul Blart: Mall Cop. We’ve also got the trailer for a very small indie film starring The Daily Show’s Wyatt Cenac, entitled Medicine for Melancholy. And third, we’ve got one clip from The Daily Show itself which has been making some waves in the media world.
Observe and Report
There’s some indefinable quality about this trailer that makes it look to me like it might be absolutely brilliant. It’s probably not the part where Anna Farris vomits, but it might have something to do with Seth Rogen’s reaction to it.
So, there it is. A movie about a mall security guard executed properly. It reminds me of the time Dante’s Peak was totally awesomer in every way than Volcano. Man did that suck.
Medicine for Melancholy
Wyatt Cenac stars in this indie that you should definitely try and find at your nearest theater as soon as possible. I already missed it, and am very disappointed.
So, that’s the trailer. Pretty nifty, right? Once again, very French New Wave. I’m glad to see it happening.
The Daily Show: Mar. 4
You’ve probably already seen this segment from The Daily Show’s Mar. 4 episode, in which Jon Stewart demonstrates some very scary footage of CNBC’s financial advice to viewers over the past few months.
It might be funny, if it weren’t so damned accurate.
