Pastor Rick Warren Loves Gays… Just Not in That Way

2008 December 21

This Saturday Pastor Rick Warren, who is set to speak at Barack Obama’s inauguration, defended his position on opposing gay marriage in a press conference. The pastor said it’s unrealistic to agree on everything all the time, and “You don’t have to see eye to eye to walk hand in hand.” He continued, “Just as long as you’re not walking with another man.”

He says that while he opposes same-sex marriage, no church has done more for people with AIDS than Saddleback Church. He went on to say that AIDS never would have been a problem in the first place if the gays had just stuck with Saddleback, and avoided bareback altogether.
