Hobo Joe Writes Some Poems: “Rain Falls”
2009 February 14
It’s Valentine’s, which means there will be more roses in garbages for me to eat tomorrow than any other day of the year. I used to be in love once, with this cat I named Sparkplug, but then he got run over by the Yarbles’ space-pod when it landed to abduct me and Pete (I’ve never seen Pete again).
I’ll be quick because the old lady with the melting face who runs this store looks upset I’m using the computer.
Here’s a little love poem:
Rain Falls
The rain falls softly over head
Pattering lightly all around
My one true love is gone and dead
And I have AIDS.
